Five pupils from Thames Ditton Junior School have been chosen to have their winning photography displayed on the home page of the newly launched Thames Ditton Junior School. The school wide competition was set by Head Teacher, Mr Nick Fry before the Christmas break and pupils were invited to submit a photograph which captured their experience of winter in and around Thames Ditton. The winning photographs were taken by Year 4 students, Jessica, Joshua, George and Lana and Ben Francis-Hew from Year 6.
Budding photographers were Year 4 students, Jessica, Joshua, George and Lana and Ben Francis-Hew from Year 6
Entering the home page of Thames Ditton Junior School visitors to the site will be greeted by the pupil inspired photography, including images of a glorious winter sunset, a reflective aerial view of the River Thames, fallen autumn leaves and natural pine cone art.
Head Teacher Mr Nick Fry said:
"For many people the school website will be the first port of call for gathering information about our school or indeed for current parents and pupils to keep up to date on what is happening day to day. Since being awarded an 'outstanding' Ofsted inspection we have felt that our website needed to better reflect the school's excellent approach to teaching and our community spirited ethos."
"After many months of teacher, governor and parental input the new website is now up and running and we are delighted with the result. The website's fresh new look is centred around our pupil designed school logo which features on our school uniform and all school materials. We thought the photography competition would be a great way to further engage the children and create a platform which they feel a part of."
